LITIGATION PUBLIC RELATIONS

CLIENT BACKGROUND

In 2020, Christy Camara lost her 10-year-old son Wyland Gomes in a murder-suicide case. Her ex-husband had circumvented an active restraining order and legally purchased a firearm from a licensed gun store in California. When Christy went to the state Department of Justice (DOJ) to find out how he had passed the background check, she was refused an explanation. Christy has now sued the Department for violating the Public Records Act and for withholding information that will determine the wrongful cause which allowed her ex-husband to access a firearm.
